CLIMATE: At 1,285 feet above sea level, Edmond has an ideal relative humidity. The warmest month is July with an average temperature in the low 80's. The coldest is January with a temperature average in the mid 30's. The city averages 3,000 hours of sunshine a year making it one of America's sunniest cities. The average rainfall per year is 30.89 inches with an average snowfall of about nine inches.

TRANSPORTATION: Edmond stands astride the main line of the Santa Fe Railroad and at the crossroads of 1-35 and 1-44 giving it easy access to the major transportation arteries of the nation. In nearby Oklahoma City is Will Rogers World Airport which makes available 71 daily flights via seven airlines. A local bus service provides transportation within Edmond and to Oklahoma City.

MEDICAL FACILITIES: The Edmond area has become the medical center for multiple adjacent counties in addition to northern Oklahoma City. The contemporary 139 bed hospital, numerous comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services and quality medical facilities meet the needs of a growing populous. Edmond Regional Medical Center has grown in scope, while maintaining the role of a community hospital with a friendly, professional approach to medical care. This center provides the expertise of a medical staff of over 240 highly skilled physicians in all specialty areas. Outside Edmond, yet still within Oklahoma County are twenty general hospitals, four specialized hospitals, three teaching hospitals and two federal medical installations. The Oklahoma Health Center is one of the nations' finest with fourteen institutions and two organizations in over forty buildings on its metropolitan campus.

CHURCHES: Edmond has an active religious community. Fourteen separate faiths are represented in the city's 47 churches. Edmond's church community has varied programs for all stages of life. Counseling, support groups, pre-schools and Mother's Day out programs are also available to Edmond citizens.
